Sacred Heart Academy unveiled its first-ever official mascot dubbed as “Sharkie” characterized by its aqua green and white aura that captivated the many hearts and curiosity of the SHAns.

It was Diwa and Genyo e-Learning contest SHAn winner Vanessa Mel Nicolas who digitalized Sharkie to lifer version but the SHA mascot’s humble debut actually occurred years ago.

Rooting its originality, Sharkie was born out of the creative minds of 2017 STEM-Calculus spearheaded and solely designed by John Patrick Ongo, the talented artist and Editorial cartoonist among the section.

“Parang nagbotohan po kami kung ano pong character ‘yung gagamitin namin and nung nag-come up po kami with shark, nag-match po yung sini-symbolize nung shark doon sa characteristics na dapat mayroon ‘yong isang SHAn or ‘yong mayroon na talaga ‘yung isang SHAn ‘tsaka yong dapat magkaroon ‘yong isang SHAn.” Ongo said.

According to the young SHAn artist, sharks represent authority, curiosity, efficiency, connection, power, perception, protection, superiority, movement and self-defense.

Moreover, the pressure from the various simultaneous events during that time led Ongo to come up for just one day with the amiable image of the now Sharkie that SHAns adore in the present day.
